Hamilton Vulcain Cricket Alarm Watch from 1965 in 34mm with a striking silver sunburst dial. Original handset including cool black arrow alarm-indicator hand; functioning mechanical alarm based on Vulcain’s famous Cricket movement solid stainless steel case with original oversized “H” crown and original pusher and a very clean domed acrylic crystal.
Inside is the rare Calibre 642 Vulcain Cricket movement which is essentially a carbon copy of Vulcain’s famous calibre 120 Cricket movement. The wearer can wind the watch both ways to manipulate the alarm feature and to start keeping time. The vast majority of Vulcain Cricket watches were offered in chrome-plated or gold-plated cases at a lesser price point making solid stainless steel examples more rare and desirable.
It’s in great condition, as seen in photos with a master watchmaker having serviced it in 2020 and authenticating that all parts are completely original. The watch is fitted with a cream nylon strap that really compliments the look of the watch.
A Vulcain Cricket is a nice addition to any serious collection of vintage alarm watches and this Hamilton spin-off is no exception.
