The Rolex Submariner is widely considered the most famous diving watch ever created. First introduced back in 1953, this was the first watch to be water resistant at depths of 1000ft. Throughout its production it has been continually modified with a series of Rolex innovations ensuring its reliability.
Undoubtedly one of the best selling watches within the range, the Rolex Submariner Bi-metal Steel & Gold beats all before it when it comes to popularity. The impactful blue bezel, alongside the blue dial and steel & gold contrast gives this submariner a look that turns heads and leaves little chance of going unnoticed.
This model is also blessed with the captivating sunburst blue which appears to be different shades of blue when viewed from different angles and has even been a popular addition to the model with many Rolex fans resisting moving to the new 11613LB until this update was made.
The details overall are much like any Rolex sport model simple in design but very precise in execution. The hands are gold (white or yellow) to ensure that they never corrode, ditto for the luminescent dot surrounds on the dial. The dials are finished flawlessly and are very easy to read, and of course the date is always perfectly legible under the trademark Cyclops lens. The bracelets are simple and rugged, all Oyster links with a “flip lock” clasp that has an extension link for strapping over a dive suit.
It is a piece you can wear comfortably, even on a small wrist like mine. The versatility of a Sub is what makes it so popular aside from the history and the design, it’s the ease with which you can wear a Sub with anything. It looks perfect with jeans, with a suit, or strapped to a wetsuit.
This model is from 2004 comes with red Rolex Jubilee presentation box and full documentation accompanied by our standard 12 month warranty.
