This means that it can record up to 20-G’s of acceleration, a very important insight for golfers such as Bubba Watson, renowned for his ability to hit a ball at more than 310 kilometers per hour.
Quartz TPT is composed of hundreds of layers of quartz laments piled on top of each other. Exceptionally resistant to high temperatures and characterized by extreme strength and transparency to electromagnetic waves. Heated to 120°C in an autoclave similar to those used to make aeronautical components, the material is then ready for machining. During this phase, the various layers are revealed at random, ensuring that each machined component is unique.
The G-Sensor was designed to visually display the number of Gs accumulated by the watch’s wearer during the different phases of driving such as rapid acceleration, deceleration and lateral forces.
The principle behind the G-Sensor is an inertial sensor: a mass guided by two rails, it is linked with a gear to a mobile carrying a spiral spring.
When the mass is subjected to a linear acceleration, the spiral puts up a resistance and the acceleration intensity is displayed on the dial by a hand.
Therefore, the pair composed by the linear guided mass and the spiral had to be calculated and calibrated very precisely.
