This is one of the standout Grand Complications watches from Patek Philippe The complication has been in Pateks catalog since 1941, and it is also happens to be one of the brand’s most important watches. Vintage or modern, Patek’s perpetual calendar chronographs are among the most coveted and collectible of all wristwatches. The fact that no other watch has appeared on as many watch auction catalog covers is a testament to their collectability and widespread appeal. The 5270’s introduction was remarkable as it was the first Patek perpetual calendar chronograph to use a 100% in-house designed and manufactured movement. For such an iconic watch, expectations were as high as it gets. Its round case is made of 18ct white gold and features an exquisite round bezel, giving the watch an eye-catching look. Its blue crocodile leather strap features a sturdy but comfortable deployment clasp. The case is accented by a beautiful blue dial that shows time in hours minutes and seconds and that features a highly legible date display subdial at 6 o’clock (integrated with moon phase display) and a month and day-of-the-week display at 12 o’clock. The dial also features polished index hour markers, a tachymeter scale and a bold Patek Philippe logo right below 12 o’clock. |
