Intro
Hublot Big Bang UNICO Magic Sapphire reference 411.JX.1170.RX limited edition to 500 pieces. It really encapsulates Hublot’s spirit of pushing design boundaries.
Keeping true to their motto “Art of Fusion”, using cutting edge technologies and unusual materials whilst mastering their craft.
Coolest part of this watch is that you are able to admire the movement from all angles. If its your first Hublot Sapphire watch you will not expect how eye-catching the play of light is on the case.
Dial
Big Bang UNICO Magic comes with a skeleton dial. They have designed it mainly with contrasting black and anthracite tones, dial is equipped with big Arabic numeral hour markers and sword style hands.
Hour markers are lined with white luminescent coating and presented in a modern font sans serif.
The red accents add some sportiness to the dial while the exposed parts of the movement let you marvel at the intricacies of some of the 300 parts that make it. White markers and numbers paired with the red strokes throughout make for a very legible dial.
Case
The sapphire material extends to the bezel, with the exception of the bezel lug which is formed of polished transparent composite resin.
Hublot has done a great job of blending titanium elements with the case. The iconic six H-shaped bezel screws are titanium, delivered in sunken and polished form.
The crown and push-pieces are also formed of titanium. The case-back is in full display with the sapphire window which is a continuation of the rest of the case letting the user admire the movement within.
Size and Feel
At 45mm wide the Big Bang UNICO magic Sapphire is a larger watch but is still very wearable even though it extends a bit past the edges of my small sized wrist.
The Sapphire crystal case material only enhances the avant-garde and bold look of this watch. It feels light on the wrist, soft to the touch and the magic sapphire is very scratch resistant.
Movement
4Hz – 28,800 bph movement with 72 hours of power reserve. The in house calibre HUB 1242 uses a silicon escapement and has a column-wheel controlled 30-minute chronograph, along with the time and date.
Summary
Hublot has managed to put together possibly one of the best value for money sapphire watches on the market.
The watch can practically be admired from every angle leaving no room for error to be covered. The flyback function and the sight of the column-wheel in the lower part of the dial is particularly eye catching.
You will find yourself admiring this watch more than you ever thought. Everything is refined to a very high standard and a marvel to wear. It offers a tactile and visual experience like not many other watches can offer.
Hublot has managed to forge traditional finishing with ultra modern techniques to present this Big Bang UNICO magic Sapphire.
Watch comes as a full set in unused/mint condition, with special presentation box, international warranty sleeve with card and Certificate of Authenticity Booklet.
