Presented to you here is the 1436 Split seconds chronograph in steel from 1952.This watch is a collectors dream it is an extremely well preserved example showing lovely proportions. It is set on a leather band with the original Patek Buckle. The dial includes a rare complication pulsation scale. For any Patek Philippe collector this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire an exquisite piece of horology by the master watch makers. The last one that came up publicly for sale was back in 2009 at Antiquorum. One of reportedly only four made in steel (with one later re-cased in yellow gold), that example sold for CHF 1.24 million. Another reportedly remains in a private collection and has a retailer’s signature on the dial. This watch has undergone a full examination by Sotheby’s watch department and will be available to the prospective buyer for inspection.
