Breguet’s rich history spans over 250 years starting in 1775, with their first claim to fame being the invention of the automatic watch the “Perpétuelle” with distinguished clients such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Queen Victoria and Sir Winston Churchill to name but a few making up their historic client base.
Tried and tested, the Breguet type XX is simple and elegant enough to wear with a suit yet sturdy enough to equip with your fatigues. Named after and inspired by the design of the original post-World War II “Type 20” French military wristwatches from the 1950’s.
The Type XX Aéronavale ref. 3800ST comes in a 39mm stainless steel case equipped with a rotating bezel engraved with Arabic numerals, subdial for seconds, screw locked crown, self-winding movement, 30 minute and 12-hour totalisers.
A pair of chronograph pushers flanks the screw-down winding crown on the right side of the case. Since this is a pilot’s watch, the black dial houses plenty of luminescent accents including large vintage style Arabic numerals and generously sized centre hands. Encased in a sleek steel rounded case with sapphire glass, illuminated hands and dial markers, you won’t find this chronograph lacking in utility or style.
Inside beats Breguet’s automatic flyback chronograph movement the Calibre 582 offering 48hr of power reserve and 100m waterproofing.
It has been fitted with a digital camo rubber strap by Horus adding to the watch’s military origins and coming with a lifetime warranty from Horus. It includes its original box which is a distinctive decorative plane wing to commemorate the watch’s military aviation heritage, alongside its outer box, booklets and original certification, the original leather Breguet strap with deployant clasp is also included with this offering.
